Arugam Bay is situated on the East coast of Sri Lanka. It was completely washed off in last year's Boxing Day Tsunami. The fishermen of this area have started to fish since the 2002 peace initiative. Most of the fishermen belong to Muslim community. The scenic view of Arugam Bay attracts more and more tourists to surf here.
